Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Homeschool UConnect (“we,” “us”), operated by Rebecca Burdick, Enterprise, Alabama. By creating an account or using the website or iPhone app you accept them.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to create an account. Browsing the calendar requires no account at all. One person, one account; keep your password to yourself.

What it costs

Browsing, posting events, following co-ops, and joining discussions are free. Optional extras for organizers — event graphics, featured placement, and Parent Premium — are purchased on the website and billed through Stripe. Nothing is sold inside the iPhone app. Featured placement buys visibility, not endorsement.

Community rules

This is a space families bring their children’s education into. Do not post:

• harassment, threats, hate speech, or attacks on a person or a family;
• sexual content, nudity, graphic violence, or anything that endangers or sexualizes a child;
• spam, scams, multi-level marketing pitches, or repeated commercial posts dressed up as events;
• anything illegal, anyone else’s private information, or content you do not have the rights to;
• events that do not exist, or listings you are not entitled to claim.

Every discussion post and reply can be reported from the app, and you can block another member so their posts no longer reach you. We review reports and remove content or terminate accounts that break these rules, without notice when the situation calls for it.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give us permission to display, store, and share it inside the Service and in the share graphics and calendar feeds the Service generates. You are responsible for what you post and you confirm you have the right to post it.

Events are run by other people

Almost every listing here is posted by a co-op, church, business, or family — or gathered from a public source and marked as community-sourced. We do not organize these events, we do not screen the organizers or the people who attend, and we cannot promise a listing is accurate, current, safe, or appropriate for your family. Confirm details with the host, and use your own judgment about who you and your children meet. Any arrangement, payment, or dispute with an organizer is between you and them.

Ending it

You may delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account in the app or from your account page on the web. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other families at risk.

No warranty, and limits

The Service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing is accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for most families, is nothing).

Changes, law, contact

We may update these terms; the date above will change and material updates will be announced in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama. Questions: rebecca@rainsoftse.com.
