Privacy Policy

Homeschool UConnect (the “Service”) is a homeschool event calendar and community for families and the co-ops, churches, and businesses that serve them. It is operated by Rebecca Burdick in Enterprise, Alabama. This policy covers the website and the iPhone app.

What we collect

• Your account — email address and the name you choose to display. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them.
• Your preferences — the home area you save so the calendar opens near you.
• What you post — events, discussion topics and replies, reviews, RSVPs, volunteer sign-ups, follows, saved events, and any abuse reports you file.
• Basic technical logs — our hosting and database providers record request data such as IP address and device or browser type to keep the Service running and secure.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for a phone number, a home address, or any information about your children.

What we never do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not show third-party advertising.
• We do not run advertising or analytics SDKs in the iPhone app.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children. Accounts are for adults.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (United States).
• Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
• Stripe — payment processing for optional paid extras on the website. Stripe handles card details directly; we never receive or store them. Nothing is sold inside the iPhone app.

What is public

Events, organization profiles, discussion posts, replies, reviews, and the display name attached to them are visible to anyone using the Service. Your email address is never shown publicly. Attendance (RSVPs) is visible to the organizer of that event and, as a count, to other families.

Email

We send only service email: sign-in and password messages, event reminders you asked for, and an optional weekly digest of events in your area. Every digest can be turned off, and we do not send your address to advertisers.

Deleting your account and your data

You can delete your account yourself at any time — in the iPhone app open Account → Delete account, or on the web open your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your profile, your discussion posts and replies, your reviews, RSVPs, saved events, follows, and volunteer sign-ups.

Events and organization pages you created on behalf of a co-op or business stay published so families who signed up are not left stranded, but they are no longer linked to you. If you want those removed too, delete them before you delete your account or email us and we will take care of it.

Retention and security

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Access is restricted at the database level so one family cannot read another’s private data. No system is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

Changes and contact
